The Rhemes Valley is a small jewel for ski touring, with the possibility to choose a different destination every day from the same hut as the starting point.

The variety of trips allows you to choose between easy trips for begginers or more demanding ones, such as Granta Parey; the drop never exceeds 1000 meters. Most of the trips are facing north, which often results in powder snow until late in the season.

Important to note, the two huts that can be used as the starting point are: Benevolo refuge, just renovated and well managed by Mountain Guide Mathieu and family, or the fantastic Dortoir du Fond, which can accommodate up to 15 people max, with hot showers and wood decorated rooms …here the definition of “plaisir” ski mountaineering finds its full meaning.

The price is for a group of 7 people and includes: IFMGA local Mountain Guide fees for 7 days, half-board in huts (breakfast, dinner, night) for 5 days for you and the Guide.

It does not include: extra (lunches, drinks), everything not included under the voice “The price includes”.

Day 1: Rhemes – Refuge Benevolo or Dortoir du Fond

Meeting at 9h o’clock with the Guide in Rhemes Notre-Dame.

Gear check and briefing about the week. We then climb up to the Benevolo hut or to the Dortoir du fond, located just 200 ms from each other. After reaching the hut (aprox. 2,5 hrs of climb), if the conditions and the weather will allow us, we will be able to do a short ski touring from the hut (Punta Palettaz).

Day 2 – 6: Daily trips from the Hut

From the second day we will do each day a different trip with a light backpack.

The list of possible destinations is quite long here: Punta Galisia, Punta Calabre, Roc du Fond, Punta Basei, Granta Parey, Roc du Fond. Getting back to hut in the early afternoon we will be able to have a good lunch and recover for the next trip (and even do some training with tranceivers, maps, gps).

The last day (day 6) we will take a different route to get back to the cars, by reaching the summit of Gran Vaudala and skiing down its wild valley.
